Grantham Moore: Wolf at Black Knight Manor

Genre: Black Gothic Fiction

Black Gothic Genre, Radio Drama from Verba Arts

Grantham Moore, son of Oba Okoduwa of the Edo Kingdom, is no ordinary diplomat. Known by his Western name, Grantham carries the ancestral wisdom of his lineage and a unique gift: the ability to unravel paranormal disturbances that defy logic and history.

Summoned by a letter from Captain Lennon II—the son of a late colonial officer—Grantham is invited to Black Knight Manor in West Yorkshire to discuss a renewed trade alliance. Palm oil and cotton now replace the Benin Bronzes once exchanged between their fathers. But beneath the formalities lies a deeper plea.

Captain Lennon confesses that the village surrounding the old mill is plagued by strange occurrences. A local priest claims to have seen a werewolf prowling the church grounds. Mrs. Lovelly, a long-time resident, speaks of a shadowed figure in a top hat that haunts her dreams and has left her husband sleepless with worry.

As Grantham sips whisky and listens in the smoke-filled games room, he realizes this is no ordinary negotiation. What begins as a trade visit becomes a descent into ancestral reckoning, spectral justice, and a mystery that links empire, industry, and the unseen.
